In the Migda LTER site, where Dr Shayli Dor Haim is running an initial ecosystem study, \u00a0Tamir Rosenberg, the entomology lab manager at DSASC found this amazing creature. This is a rare microwhip scorpion (Palpigradi) The \u201cwhip\u201d or \u201ctail\u201d is an extension of the abdomen (just like the \u201ctail\u201dof the scorpion). This a very exiting finding as these creatures usually live in moist conditions like tropics or caves and this was found in a completely new ecosystem that was created as part of an initial ecosystem study. The research is funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
