ADSSC’s Dead Sea branch hosted the bi-annual meeting of the International Phytolith Society. Twenty five researchers and students attended the meeting, from all over the world (Israel, Spain, Belgium, Germany, U.S.A., Brazil, Russia, Denmark and U.K.). The participants discussed the latest innovations in studying plant siliceous remains in archaeology, palaeoclimate and ecology. They also got to visit on Mount Masada, Ein-Gedi Botanical Garden, and ancient Ein-Gedi. Some have chosen to arrive with their families.<\/div>
Dr. Ofir Katz, the organizer: “It is a privilege to host sceintists from all around world here in the Dead Sea. Apart from exposure to the innovations in our field, it was important for us to get them familiarized with the Dead Sea region and its challenges.
