At long last, the booklet “Deseret Plants” is printed and available to all!
This humble issue is a fruit of love made by a group of villagers and farmers who reside along both sides of the Dead Sea-Red Sea Basin.
In the booklet we share our knowledge of 10 selected floral species found in the region, and their use in traditional medicine and modern cuisine. We invite you to enjoy their beauty and consider this as our personal invitation to you to visit our region and meet the people who live here. We come from different cultures and backgrounds – but share the hope to prosper in a comprehensive and just peace.
The booklet was produced as part of Water Matters, a Palestinian, Israeli and Jordanian framework for sustainable community development. For hard copies – please address the local coordinators in Palestine, Israel and Jordan.
The booklet is one of the 14 projects born and led by the participating communities.
Water Matters was spearheaded by the Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem,
the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center in Israel, and i.GREENS in Jordan. The project was
possible due to the generous support of USAID-CMM West Bank and Gaza.
Thanks to all the participants who donated their knowledge and time!
